HFoZ, has 5 carefully selected channels, ranging from 3 to 15Mhz. These frequencies have been (for the first time) approved for Voice and limited Data usage, which will allow the radio user to further expand the usage of their radio.
HFoZ EMAIL will allow the radio to send short messages (up to 60 characters for Codan NGT and 9323 and up to 28 characters for Barrett 2050) to any designated preset email addresses (up to 99 email address can be stored). However this service currently does not allow emails from computer to the radio - ** Email is scheduled for operation approximately March 31st 2009
As we've said we LISTEN to your feedback, subsequently HFoZ has implemented a NEW option - Effective immediately HFoZ in conjunction with Radtel Network are now offering a special joint package which will include not only all of HFoZ standard features, but also Radtel Assist, Emergency Assistance Package - Listed below are the included features;
So as you can see HFoZ is NOW offering the complete package without sacrificing network congestion and or incorrect usage of frequencies
Just to re-enforce as noted above, that HFoZ and Radtel Network features are to be kept on SEPARATE networks/frequencies hence fulfilling our ongoing commitment to provide Australia's ONLY premium networks
ALE stands for Automatic Link Establishment or for Codan it's sometime referred to as CALM which stands for Codan Automatic Link Management. This is a relatively new feature not yet been used on any Australian network. Another first, HFoZ's infrastructure will eventually be setup to include this very handy feature.
To explain the operation of ALE in somewhat simple terms, the feature, when operative continually sends out at preprogrammed intervals, what is known as 'soundings', these 'soundings' check the signal strength for the chosen frequencies, time of day and distance of transmission to the selected base or mobile radio at various times throughout the operating cycle of the radio. It then stores the information in a memory for when you wish to call one of these mobiles or base stations. So when a call is made the radio does all the thinking for you.
The feature truly allows 'One Touch' dialing from your radio and takes all the 'guess' work out of it. Just let the radio do 'all' those tedious tasks automatically - selection of channels, beacon calling, selcalling etc.
